Studying a musical instrument helps a person develop confidence, discipline, a sense of achievement, artistry, and determination. Whether your goal is to just learn a little bit about music or it is to become an accomplished musician, as a teacher I am happy to help you reach your goals.

Ideology/Method: As a student, I was taught harp using the traditional method. As a teacher, I have taken Suzuki harp training. I believe both methods have value, and so use a combination of both in my teaching style.

  • What is the Suzuki Method? The Suzuki method is often referred to as the Mother Tongue Approach. In the Suzuki method we try to teach music the same way we "teach" language. Just as we learn to speak our mother tongue well before we can read or write, students in the Suzuki method also learn to play music before they read music.

Ages: I accept students from ages 3 to adult. Younger children, particularly those seven and younger, are taught with the Suzuki method. Older children and adults are taught traditionally. Knowing how to read music is helpful, but not necessary.

Prices: Prices vary depending on age/length of lesson. Contact me for more information.
